INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Indoor air quality is a concern for all of us.
Building a new home provides the opportunity for preventing indoor air problems. However, it can result in exposure to higher levels of indoor air contaminants if careful attention is not given to potential pollution sources and the air exchange rate. Indoor air quality can directly impact the quality of one's health. Poor indoor air quality can impact asthma or cause irritation to eyes, nose, and throat. Incidences of nose dryness often leading to nose bleeds, skin rash, headaches, upper respiratory distress, and dizziness. Outdoor air quality has been regulated and has become cleaner; however, indoor air has deteriorated. The indoor air quality in our homes and offices may be two to fiye times more polluted than the outside air. Indoor air quality can be impacted by high Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels due to materials used in laminate, particleboard, hardboard, treated wood, etc., carpeting and cleaning materials, among others

Avoidance of mold
Molds can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually any organic substance, as long as moisture and oxygen are present. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet, foods, and insulation. When excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or unaddressed.
It is impossible to eliminate all mold and mold spores in the indoor environment. However, mold growth can be controlled indoors by controlling moisture indoors.
